Chatang Launches Custom Bubble Tea and Malatang at Merrion
Thu 07 May, 2026
Welcome to Chatang!
A fresh and exciting concept has arrived in Leeds as Chatang opens its doors on Woodhouse Lane, introducing a vibrant menu of authentic East Asian flavours at the Merrion Centre
Following an initial soft opening, Chatang will officially celebrate its Grand Opening on Friday 8th May 2026.
Limited-Time Launch Offers
To mark the launch, customers can enjoy a Buy One Get One Free promotion for three days: purchase any drink from the menu and receive one regular drink free from a selected range, including Snow Jasmine Green Tea Latte, Mango Fruit Tea, or Passion Fruit Tea. In addition, the first 100 customers during the promotional period will receive a complimentary Chatang fridge magnet.
Chatang offers a modern, immersive food and drink experience, centred around quality ingredients, customisation, and bold taste. At the heart of the concept is a focus on quick, high-quality drinks for customers on the move. The menu features a wide variety of made-to-order options, including creamy milk teas, fruit-infused teas, matcha creations, and iced blends. Each drink is prepared using premium ingredients and can be fully customised, allowing customers to adjust sweetness, ice levels, and toppings to suit their preferences.
More Than Just Tea
While primarily a grab-and-go concept, Chatang also offers a complementary food option in the form of Malatang—a popular Chinese street food that allows guests to build their own personalised hot pot. With a selection of fresh vegetables, meats, seafood, and tofu, all cooked in a rich, flavourful broth or served as a dry mix, it provides a convenient and satisfying option for those looking for something more substantial.
Vincent Deng, Owner of Chatang, said:
“We’re proud to bring Chatang to Leeds and introduce a concept that’s all about flavour, choice, and experience. We wanted to create a place where people can enjoy authentic drinks and dishes in a way that feels modern and personal to them. From our handcrafted teas to Malatang, everything we offer is designed to be fresh, customisable, and full of character.”
Lynsey Clarke, Asset Manager at Town Centre Securities PLC, owners of the Merrion Centre, added:
“We are delighted to welcome Chatang to the Merrion Centre. This exciting new addition enhances our food and beverage offering, bringing something different to the scheme. Its focus on authenticity, quality, and customisation makes it a great fit for our visitors and the evolving Leeds city centre dining scene.”
The arrival of Chatang further strengthens the Merrion Centre as a go-to destination for diverse and high-quality food and drink in the heart of the city.
