Mint Announces Brand New 2500 Capacity Venue at Merrion
Thu 21 May, 2026
New destination to offer exclusive merchandise, fan events and immersive community experiences
Leeds-based events brand Mint, known for Mint Festival, Mint Warehouse and the former Mint Club, has officially announced the location of its highly anticipated new venue, Mint XL, set to open within the former PRYZM nightclub site on Woodhouse Lane in the heart of Leeds city centre.
At a time when much of the UK nightlife industry continues to face ongoing challenges, Mint XL arrives as a bold statement of intent – reinvesting in a large-scale city centre venue and reaffirming Leeds’ position as one of the UK’s leading destinations for music and culture.
Currently undergoing an extensive redevelopment and full-scale renovation, Mint XL is being completely reimagined into a 2,500-capacity venue built around high-spec production, immersive experiences and forward-thinking event programming.
Located within the Merrion Centre, owned and managed by Town Centre Securities (TCS), the venue sits prominently within one of Leeds’ most vibrant and accessible districts, close to the city’s universities, nightlife and key transport links.
Reimagining an Iconic Venue.
Designed to move seamlessly between electronic music events, touring live shows, brand activations, private hire and corporate experiences, Mint XL sets to bring new energy back into one of Leeds city centre’s most iconic nightlife spaces.
At the core of the venue sits a major focus on sound and production. Mint XL will be powered by a newly installed Funktion-One Vero sound system throughout the main spaces, alongside high-spec lighting, immersive visual production and bespoke room design.
The venue will officially launch with its opening party taking place on Friday 25th September, marking the beginning of a new era for nightlife and live experiences in Leeds city centre.
Mint also extended special thanks to TCS and the Merrion Centre team for their support and collaboration in helping bring the project to life within the heart of Leeds.
Now, Mint Enters A New Era.
While Mint XL represents the brand’s biggest venue project to date, the team have remained focused on retaining the intimate atmosphere and close connection to music that has defined both Mint Club and Mint Warehouse.
Speaking on the launch, the team at Mint said:
“Mint XL is a huge step forward for us as a brand. For years we’ve operated just outside the city centre through Mint Warehouse and previously Mint Club, so being able to bring something of this scale directly into the heart of Leeds feels incredibly exciting.
“The vision for Mint XL has always been to create a fully versatile venue capable of operating at a much bigger level, from large-scale electronic music programming and touring live shows through to private hire, brand events and corporate experience’s.
“At the same time, one of the most important things for us was making sure we didn’t lose the intimacy and atmosphere that made Mint Club and Mint Warehouse feel special over the years. Even though the scale is bigger, the focus on experience, connection and music remains exactly the same.
“We’re completely reimagining the space from the ground up with production, atmosphere and experience at the centre of everything. Leeds has such a rich nightlife legacy and we’re proud to be bringing new life back into a landmark city centre venue with a project of this scale.”
Charles Newman, Asset Management Director for TCS added:
“This is a fantastic new addition to our ever-expanding leisure offering at the Merrion Centre. Mint XL brings fresh energy and a high-quality, large-scale venue into the heart of the city.
Its location, right on the doorstep of Leeds’ universities and a dense student population, makes it ideally placed to become a key destination for both students and the wider city. We’re proud to support a project that continues to strengthen Leeds’ reputation as a leading UK nightlife and live events destination.”
