Merrion Centre launches Student Cyclone Challenge with over £15,000 of prizes up for grabs
Leeds students invited to ‘Whirl to Win’ as Merrion Centre unveils its biggest Freshers prize giveaway yet
The Merrion Centre is gearing up to welcome the city’s student community this Freshers with the launch of its brand-new Merrion Student Cyclone Challenge, giving students the chance to win a share of more than £15,000 worth of prizes, offers and experiences.
Taking place from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th September, between 11am and 3pm, the new interactive challenge puts a high-energy twist on the Merrion Centre’s popular annual student activity.
Exclusive Prizes for Shopping Local at Merrion
Students simply need to make a purchase at ANY Merrion Centre store, show their receipt to the event team and step inside the Student Cyclone.
Once inside, they will have just 20 seconds to grab a coveted red ball to be in with the chance of walking away with a prize.
More than £15,000 worth of prizes, offers and experiences will be available from businesses across the Centre and wider Arena Quarter.
Prizes include VIP tickets, season passes and discounts for the new MINT XL, tickets to see major artists at the first direct bank Arena, VIP Voodoo cards, and meals, passes, discounts and giveaways from destinations including Blue Sakura, Fuji Hiro, PureGym, Estabulo Leeds Arena, HYGGE, La Fiesta, 24 Laundromat, Tenpin, PizzaExpress Leeds Arena, Boojum – plus many more!
Connecting Leeds’ student community with everything the Merrion Centre has to offer
The activation forms part of the Merrion Centre’s ongoing programme of activity designed specifically for Leeds’ substantial student population, introducing new and returning students to the wide variety of shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment available in and around the Centre.
This year’s Cyclone Challenge takes the concept a step further, creating an interactive Freshers experience at the heart of the Merrion Centre while continuing the simple principle of rewarding students for shopping with its retailers and leisure operators.
